Soooooooooo, its been a while
Yeah, so I haven't written anything in a while. That's because I haven't had anything to write about. When you're in the mists of a 10 game losing streak, all the thoughts you have in your head are bad ones. Really bad ones. But, with a new coach, it looks like our boys might be starting something good now. The boys have now won two in a row, and both games we've looked really good in. We just brought up this guy, david backes and he's got a goal and an assist in two games. He was a second round pick in 2003 so hopefully he'll turn into the next star. We'll have to keep our eyes on him.
Depressing
Yeah, its starting to look like its going to be a long season this year. Are we going to start a new record for most years missing the playoffs? Is it really going to be that bad?????? This is driving me insane! Oh well, another tough year to go through. Like I didn't have enough of those with the Mets before. We have some nice rookies that could make a difference for the team, but I hate waiting. I'm just not that patient. I know, I know, in a couple years I'll be kicking myself cause we'll be back to a dominant team. But still, its a pain. Lets hope that something happens and turns this season around, and maybe we can make it to the playoffs.
10 Game Mark
Okay so we're at the 10 game mark. Not too bad considering last year. We're in 3rd in our conference. We've had a bunch of close games that we could have won. I think we've only been blown out of 1 game so far. We have 3 overtime or shootout losses including the last two games. We have a rookie leading our team in goals and Tkachuk is leading our team in assists and points. He's averaging 1 point a game. Legace has been okay in net, but I really like Curtis Sanford. I think he'll end up being a pretty good goalie for us. So, lets hope that we have a pretty good season.
The Long Break
Okay, who came up with the schedule? Are there a bunch of monkeys working in the NHL?? Probably. So the Blues are off for 6 days!! When does this happen? Has it ever happened except for during the olympics?? Really? They couldn't schedule another game for us? Oh well. I'm happy with our progress so far. We're tied for second place. Not too bad considering our start and last years team. I'm pretty happy the way that we've battled and fought so far. Good things could happen this year if we keep it this way. Our last win was pretty nice, especially cause it came against Chicago. He he.
The First Win
Woooooo hooooooooo, we finally won a game. He he. I thought it was going to take forever!!! Well, not really. I knew we'd do well once we got home. It was great to see us come from behind in the third period, too. Down 2-0 early in the third, it didn't look well for our blues, but our boys pulled it out. Its nice to come away with a win in our first home game. It was kinda ballsey for our gm to predict that we would and its nice that the guys proved him to be like Nostradomous. I wish I could have seen the shoutout, or the game for that matter, but I was in NY watching the Mets game (sorry, I like the Mets, not the Cards, hehe).
Western Road Trip
Okay, so we've just completed our western road trip to start the season. It wasn't as bad as it seems. Okay, okay we did lose our first three games, but we were in all of those games. The first one we lost in overtime and the second one we were in it until the middle of the third period. Last night we got shut out, but only gave up 2 goals. I've been pretty surprised by our D so far. I like them and think they can hold up this year. The goalies have been pretty good. They can be a little better, but still, I can't complain after last season. Hopefully our first home game will go pretty well.
Start of the Season
Well, its nice for the season to finally start. Hopefully we'll get off to a good start, unlike last year. I think we're probably 2-3 years away from really contending for the stanley cup, but it'll be nice to see the young guys grow. Lets hope it turns out well this year.
Monday Morning
Well, its monday morning. I wish I was still in bed instead of at work. Don't you? We had a pretty good weekend. 1-1 against Atlanta. It was nice to see our offense finally work in the second game and get our first win. I was pretty impressed with the lost though, giving up only 1 goal. Its nice to see our goalies doing pretty well so far. I think with the coaching and the veteran players we pick up over the off season, we should do pretty well. It seemed last year that what we missed, and would have helped in the second half, was getting some leadership. Now we've got it, plus with s
